Deputy Manager needed for a two bed EBD children's home in Kettering, working alongside an established and experienced Registered Manager.

The role at a glance:

  • Two bed EBD home with a provider who has 8 homes in the region

  • Reports into an experienced, already established Registered Manager

  • Shift pattern: two days on, four days off

  • Basic salary £35,360 to £38,480 (£17 to £18.50 per hour, depending on experience)

  • Ten sleep-ins per month at £60 each, adding roughly £7,200 a year

  • Realistic total earnings £42,560 to £45,680 before overtime

  • Overtime paid at a £2 per hour uplift on your base rate

As Deputy Manager, you'll:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day to day leadership and running of the home

  • Deputise fully in the Registered Manager's absence, including on-call responsibility

  • Lead, coach and supervise a team of Residential Support Workers

  • Contribute to Reg 44 and Reg 45 reviews, care planning and risk assessments

  • Build strong working relationships with young people, families, social workers and other professionals

  • Support recruitment, induction and development of staff

  • Help embed the home's Statement of Purpose and therapeutic ethos into daily practice

  • Manage incidents, behaviour support plans and safeguarding matters in line with regulations

What you'll need:

  • A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

  • Experience in an EBD or complex needs children's residential setting

  • Previous experience in a senior, shift leading or deputy management role

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • A genuine understanding of trauma informed practice

  • The resilience to support a small, consistent team through a demanding but rewarding environment
