MANAGER

Deputy Manager

Children's Residential Care

Swinton, Greater Manchester

£40,000 per annum

Monday to Friday

This is a 2-bed EBD children's home, rated Good by Ofsted, with a settled staff team already in place. One young person is currently placed there. The home is part of a small group of two homes in the area, overseen by a Dual Registered Manager and supported by an experienced senior leadership team who are present and involved in how things are run.

The provider works with young people aged 8 to 17 in medium to long-term placements. Their approach is built around high expectations, not just for the young people but for the staff around them. Ofsted noted that children feel heard, that education is taken seriously, and that the homes feel like homes.

As Deputy Manager you would work alongside the Registered Manager to keep the home running to that standard, supporting the team day to day and contributing to the care of the young person placed there.

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day leadership of a 2-bed EBD children's home in Swinton, M27

  • Supervising and developing the residential support team

  • Ensuring care plans, risk assessments, and records are up to date and reflect the individual needs of the young person in placement

  • Building and maintaining relationships with placing authorities, social workers, schools, and other professionals

  • Deputising for the Registered Manager when needed

  • Contributing to quality assurance and the ongoing development of the home

  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

What You'll Need

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent

  • Experience working in a children's residential setting, ideally with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties

  • Good written communication and confidence with documentation

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

Salary

£40,000 per annum, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. In children's residential care, that working pattern is genuinely uncommon at this level.
