Responsible Individual (Part-Time) Two Children's Residential Homes (EBD) | Wellingborough / Northamptonshire £400 to £450 per day | Approx. 4 days per month

Two small EBD children's homes, Northamptonshire. Managers in post, owners who are genuinely present, staff teams who care. What's missing is experienced RI oversight that pulls both services together and lifts the standard of Leadership and Management.

You'll work directly with the two owners and two Registered Managers, with real influence and a clear brief. Around 4 days per month, flexible on which days, structured as employment or consultancy, open to discussion.

Your responsibilities

• Providing RI governance and strategic oversight across two children's homes

• Reviewing Reg 44s, Ofsted feedback and internal audits and turning them into practical, time-bound improvement plans

• Strengthening Leadership and Management and recording practice in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and SCCIF

• Holding structured governance meetings with owners and Registered Managers

• Visiting both homes regularly and feeding back honestly, challenging and supporting managers in equal measure

• Preparing the organisation for future inspection with evidence that holds up and a story that makes sense

What we're looking for

• Experienced as a Responsible Individual, Senior Operations Manager or Regional Manager with multi-home oversight

• Proven track record improving or sustaining Good or Outstanding in children's residential homes

• Strong working knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, SCCIF, Quality Standards and Reg 44 and 45 practice

• Comfortable giving direct feedback to managers while keeping relationships intact

• Confident with reporting, recording and QA systems

• Able to work within a small owner-led provider where honesty and visibility matter

Being within sensible reach of Wellingborough and Northamptonshire is important for regular, meaningful home visits.
