Children’s Residential Care (Solo EBD Home)
Location: Aylestone, Leicestershire
Salary: £45,000 to £54,500 per annum (dependent on experience)
This is an Ofsted registered solo placement home, supporting one young person aged 12 to 17 on a 2:1 care model.

Your Role as Registered Manager
You’ll hold full responsibility for the home under the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
In practice, that means:
Leading the home in line with the Quality Standards
Creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment
Building and developing a consistent staff team through supervision and support
Overseeing care planning, risk management and reviews
Acting as the safeguarding lead within the home
Maintaining full compliance and inspection readiness
Working closely with therapists, education providers and external professionals
Keeping the home aligned with its Statement of Purpose
There’s accountability here, of course but also real autonomy, you’re trusted to run the home properly with a provider who has been providing care to young people for 10 years.

You’ll likely be:
Experienced in managing children’s homes (or a deputy manager who is ready to progress), ideally within EBD or SEMH
Confident leading a team and setting clear expectations
Comfortable making decisions and standing by them
Emotionally aware, without losing professional boundaries
Organised, with a strong grip on compliance and quality
Able to build strong working relationships with professionals and families
You don’t need to be loud to lead well here. But you do need to be clear.
What You’ll Need
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or actively working towards
At least 2 years’ experience managing within a children’s residential setting
Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs
Full UK driving licence
