Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
Location: Castleford WF10
Service: 2-bed therapeutic children’s home
Salary: £50,000 per year + up to £3,000 bonus + £1,000 for an Outstanding Ofsted
Contract: Full time, 40 hours Monday to Friday. On-call rota included.

The role

If you enjoy shaping practice and growing people, this is a Registered Manager role with real scope. You’ll hold Ofsted registration for a well-resourced new home, building a steady rhythm of care where two young people feel secure, heard and supported. The provider has 4 other homes and their systems are sensible, the culture is therapeutic, and your judgement sets the pace day to day.

What you’ll be doing

  • Hold Ofsted registration and keep the home inspection-ready through daily practice and smart QA

  • Lead safeguarding with confidence, creating clear reporting and meaningful learning loops

  • Recruit, induct, supervise and develop a skilled team with reflective practice at the core

  • Oversee care planning, risk management, audits and Reg 44/45 with action that sticks

  • Manage admissions and matching to strengthen placement stability and relationships

  • Run operations well: rota design, performance, budgets and practical use of data

  • Build strong partnerships with families, schools, health and local authority teams

What you’ll bring

  • Previous experience holding Ofsted registration for a children’s residential home or a strong, confident deputy manager

  • Level 5 Diploma (Children, Young People and Families Manager or Leadership and Management)

  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role within residential childcare

  • Confident knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and SCCIF

  • Calm, credible leadership with clear communication and a values-led, outcomes focus

  • Full UK manual driving licence and comfort with the on-call rota
