The role
As Registered Manager, you’ll have full oversight of the home and its direction. You’ll set expectations, guide practice, and build a team that feels confident in their roles and connected to the young people they support. Safeguarding, quality of care, staff development, referrals, budgets and partnerships all sit within your remit, but you won’t be carrying this alone.
This role suits someone who enjoys being visible, and consistent in their leadership. Someone who values reflective practice, clear communication, and doing things for the right reasons.
What you’ll be responsible for
Leading an Ofsted-regulated children’s home and maintaining a Good rating, with ambition to build on this
Creating a positive, child-centred culture where young people feel safe, understood and supported
Recruiting, developing and retaining a skilled residential team
Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and internal quality standards
Managing referrals, occupancy and relationships with placing authorities
Overseeing budgets and contributing to the long-term success of the service
Working closely with senior leaders and taking part in the on-call rota
What you’ll bring
Experience as a Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to register
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent
A solid understanding of EBD provision and trauma-informed care
Confidence leading teams, making decisions, and holding professional boundaries
A values-led approach to leadership and care
