REGISTERED MANAGER
Children’s Residential Home (EBD) • Mickleover, Derby (DE23)
Salary: Up to £54,500 DOE + £4,500 annual performance bonus
Lead a small, therapeutic 2-bed EBD home the right way. You’ll hold Ofsted registration, set the tone on shift, and keep practice child-centred and inspection-ready every day. The provider has 8+ years’ experience with a track record of Good/Outstanding homes so you’ll have solid systems, sensible backing and the autonomy to run a great service.
What you’ll do
Hold Ofsted registration and lead day-to-day operations with calm, credible leadership.
Recruit, induct and develop a stable team with clear supervision rhythms and CPD.
Embed trauma-informed, relational practice and predictable routines.
Own safeguarding, care planning, risk management, audits and SCCIF readiness (incl. Reg 44/45).
Manage matching and admissions to protect stability and outcomes.
Build strong links with families, schools, health partners and commissioning teams.
Track quality, incidents, occupancy and budgets so care and commercial stay aligned.
Take part in the on-call rota.
What you’ll bring
Recent experience as a Registered Manager (or a strong Deputy ready to register).
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or studying towards).
Confident knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and SCCIF.
A steady, values-led style: clear communication, sound judgement, professional curiosity.
Full UK manual driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
