Residential Children’s Home (EBD)
Location: Milton Keynes (MK6)
Service: 2-bed EBD home currently supporting one young person
Salary: Up to £54,500 per year + £4,500 annual bonus

Lead a small, high-quality children’s home where every detail from the rhythm of the day to the way decisions are made; centres on consistency, connection and care.

This is an opportunity to manage a well-established 2-bed EBD home in Milton Keynes, backed by a trusted provider with over 10 years of experience and a track record of every home rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.

You’ll join a team that genuinely understands what “good” looks like in practice; stable homes, strong leadership, reflective supervision, and relationships that make young people feel safe and seen.

The role

As Registered Manager, you’ll set the tone for the home, lead your team, and keep the service inspection-ready every day, through good habits, calm leadership and genuine teamwork.

Your focus will be to:

  • Lead the home day-to-day in line with the Statement of Purpose and Ofsted standards.

  • Promote trauma-informed, relational care, creating predictable routines and nurturing consistency.

  • Oversee safeguarding and risk management, keeping the home safe and compliant.

  • Manage quality assurance, audits and improvement planning under the Quality Standards and SCCIF.

  • Recruit, develop and retain a stable team through supervision, coaching and reflective practice.

  • Build strong relationships with families, education, health partners and commissioning teams.

  • Monitor performance and outcomes, using data to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or close to completion).

  • Experience as a Registered Manager, or a confident Deputy ready to register.

  • Clear understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted inspections.

  • Calm, credible leadership style; someone who sets direction with empathy and consistency.

  • A full UK manual driving licence and flexibility to meet operational needs.

Why you’ll want to work here

  • Proven quality: a provider with over 10 years’ experience and every home rated Good or Outstanding.

  • Small and focused: a calm, two-bed home currently supporting one young person — space to do things properly.

  • Genuine support: senior leaders who are visible, approachable and invested in your success.

  • Room to grow: development opportunities, leadership pathways and a culture that values learning.

  • Rewarding package: up to £54,500 plus a structured £4,500 annual bonus.

What’s on offer

  • Paid training, reflective supervision and CPD opportunities.

  • Clear structure and systems that let you focus on practice, not admin.

  • Ongoing support from specialist teams including HR, quality and operations.

  • A stable, child-focused environment built on trust and long-term thinking.
