MANAGER
Registered Manager
Children’s Residential Home
Ansley, Warwickshire (CV10)
£45,000 to £54,500 per year
An established residential childcare provider is looking for a Registered Manager to lead a children’s home in Ansley (CV10) supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The home provides assessment and longer term placements, with a focus on helping young people rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships and move forward with education and life skills.
There’s strong operational oversight around the home, along with experienced senior leaders who stay involved and accessible. You won’t be left figuring things out on your own. At the same time, you’ll have the trust and space to lead the service in a way that reflects your experience and judgement.
For many managers, that balance matters more than anything.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will hold Ofsted registration and lead the home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
You will oversee the daily life of the home, ensuring young people experience care that is consistent, thoughtful and tailored to their individual needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the home and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for young people
Overseeing safeguarding, care planning and risk management
Supporting young people’s progress across education, wellbeing and independence
Building and developing a committed residential care team
Providing supervision, guidance and development for staff
Working closely with families, social workers, therapists and partner agencies
Monitoring quality of care and maintaining strong regulatory compliance
Managing staffing levels, budgets and operational resources within the home
Contributing to the wider leadership of the organisation
It’s a role that blends leadership, oversight and presence within the home. The paperwork matters, of course. But the culture you create for the team and the young people living there matters just as much.
What They’re Looking For
To be considered for this role you will need:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
At least five years’ experience within children’s residential care
At least two years’ experience in a management role within a children’s home
Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted inspection framework
Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs
Confidence leading teams and developing staff
Managers who succeed in this role tend to be thoughtful, organised and confident in their decision making. They value strong relationships within the team and take pride in the standards within the home.
Salary and Benefits
£45,000 to £54,500 per year
Pay progression reviewed twice yearly (March and October) based on performance and development goals
Annual appraisal bonus
Ofsted inspection bonus
Probation bonus
33 days annual leave including bank holidays
Company pension scheme
Paid face to face training
Employee Assistance Programme
Referral bonus for introducing new staff
Paid Christmas celebration event
Why Managers Stay
The homes are designed to be well resourced and properly staffed, allowing teams to focus on building relationships and supporting progress.
Senior leaders stay involved and accessible, offering guidance and oversight while allowing managers to lead their homes with confidence.
There is also a strong emphasis on staff development, reflective practice and continuous improvement, which helps create an environment where both young people and staff can grow.
For managers who value structure, supportive leadership and the opportunity to build a strong team culture, it’s a rewarding place to lead.
