Registered Manager
Children's Residential Care
2 Bed EBD
Rochdale, OL12
£50,000 to £60,000
A brand new two bed children's home in Rochdale is looking for a Registered Manager to lead it through its very first Ofsted registration. You'll be involved in setting the tone, building the team culture, and putting your own stamp on how the home runs, working closely with a Director who's invested in getting this right and wants a manager who's confident enough to lead that process.
What you'll be doing:
Leading the home through Ofsted registration and beyond, with full backing from the Director throughout the process
Building and developing a staff team from the ground up, shaping culture and standards from the very start
Overseeing care planning and delivery for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring every placement is genuinely child centred
Managing staffing, rotas, budgets and compliance in line with Children's Homes Regulations
Acting as the key link between the home, placing authorities, families and external professionals
Creating a home environment where children feel safe, valued and properly supported to thrive
What we're looking for:
Experience as a Registered Manager or a strong, confident Deputy Manager ready to take that step up
A genuine understanding of Ofsted requirements and what good day to day care, registration and inspection practice actually looks like in EBD residential care
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or actively working towards it
Confidence to make decisions and build something new, potentially without every process already mapped out for you
A collaborative approach, someone who wants to work alongside leadership rather than simply take instruction
Full UK driving licence
On salary, £50,000 to £60,000 reflects where you're starting from and what you bring with you, whether that's a Deputy stepping up for the first time or an experienced Registered Manager with prior "Good" or "Outstanding" ratings behind them. There's also scope for a performance related increase once that first Ofsted report lands, plus investment in your ongoing development. This is a role built to grow with the person who takes it, not just fill a gap.
If you've been waiting for a role where you get to build something rather than maintain it, this might be the one.
