Registered Manager

Children’s Residential Home
Stapenhill, Derbyshire
Up to £54,500 per year

You’ll be stepping into a service where leadership is visible, expectations are clear and the focus stays where it belongs, on young people, their progress, and the team supporting them every day. There’s real backing here too, senior leaders who stay close enough to be useful, systems that actually support good practice, and a culture where quality isn’t rushed, it’s built.

The home supports young people with emotional and behavioural needs, offering medium to long-term placements with a strong therapeutic focus. Your role is to shape the environment, guide the team and make sure care plans translate into real-world progress.

If you’re someone who enjoys seeing a service grow into its potential and takes pride in the details that make a home feel safe and purposeful, you’ll feel at home here.

What the role involves

  • You’ll hold Ofsted registration and lead the home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, keeping compliance woven into everyday practice.

  • You’ll oversee care planning, safeguarding and quality assurance, making sure each young person’s journey is understood, reviewed and supported properly.

  • You’ll lead, supervise and develop a staff team that feels confident in their roles and clear about expectations. There’s real scope to shape culture here, not just maintain it.

  • You’ll work alongside education, health and external professionals to create joined-up support around each young person.

  • You’ll also play a key role in strengthening systems, improving outcomes and contributing to the wider development of the organisation.

What matters for this role

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

  • Strong experience within children’s residential care, including management responsibility.

  • Confident understanding of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, supervisions and inspections.

  • A full UK driving licence and genuine confidence driving in all situations, including motorways and evenings.

  • A clear enhanced DBS.

Salary and progression

  • Salary up to £54,500 per year, depending on experience.

  • Progression is structured and transparent, linked to performance and development goals set through PDPs and annual appraisals. Pay reviews take place twice yearly, in March and October.

Benefits

  • Bonuses up to £4,500

  • Enhanced training delivered face to face, with ongoing development opportunities.

  • Annual appraisal bonus, probation bonus and Ofsted performance bonus.

  • Company pension scheme and employee assistance programme.

  • Extra annual leave for your birthday and a fully funded Christmas celebration.

  • Refer-a-friend scheme paid after their first shift.

The kind of leader who thrives here

You’re thoughtful but decisive. You notice the small things that shape a team’s confidence. You’re comfortable holding standards high while still creating a space where people feel supported to grow.

Most of all, you care about building a home where young people can experience consistency, encouragement and genuine opportunity to move forward.
