MANAGER

Dual Registered Manager
Children's Residential Care (EBD)
WS2 Area, Walsall
Up to £60,000 plus up to £6,000 annual bonus

We're looking for a Dual Registered Manager to lead two neighbouring 2-bed therapeutic children's homes in the WS2 area, supporting young people aged 8 to 18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties, trauma-related needs and disrupted life experiences.

The homes sit side by side, operate with small occupancy numbers and are built around therapeutic, relationship-led care. Both homes have dedicated Deputies in place, including one recently promoted from a Senior position, creating a genuine opportunity for a strong leader who enjoys coaching, developing others and building confident management teams around them.

The salary for this position is £60,000pa, alongside an annual performance bonus of £3,000 per home.

The organisation operates a small portfolio of therapeutic homes across the Midlands, maintaining a strong focus on individual care planning, trauma-informed practice, reflective leadership and creating environments where children can genuinely heal, develop and thrive. Recent Ofsted inspections across the service have recognised positive outcomes for children, strong safeguarding arrangements and effective leadership within the homes, providing a solid platform for an experienced manager to build upon.

The wider leadership team promotes professional development, reflective practice and high-quality care delivery. There is a clear emphasis on giving children stable, family-style homes where they feel listened to, valued and supported to achieve positive outcomes in education, health and everyday life.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Providing operational and strategic leadership across two therapeutic EBD children's homes

  • Maintaining full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements

  • Leading, developing and mentoring two staff teams, including supporting the ongoing development of both Deputy Managers

  • Driving positive outcomes for children and young people through high-quality care planning and effective placement matching

  • Managing admissions, occupancy levels and home performance

  • Overseeing audits, quality assurance systems, Regulation 44 actions and Regulation 45 reporting

  • Developing a positive culture where children feel safe, respected and able to achieve their potential

  • Building strong partnerships with Ofsted, Local Authorities, Social Workers, education providers and other professionals

  • Managing recruitment, retention, supervision, training and performance management across both homes

  • Ensuring children's voices remain central to decision making and daily practice

  • Participating in the senior management on-call rota, covering approximately one week in every five

What we're looking for

  • Previous successful Ofsted registration as a Registered Manager within Children's Residential Care

  • Ability to satisfy Ofsted Fit Person requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or Level 5 Diploma for Children, Young People and Families Manager

  • Minimum two years' experience in a supervisory or management position within a children's residential setting

  • Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding frameworks

  • Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire emerging managers

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Passion for improving the lives and long-term outcomes of children in care

What's on offer

  • Salary up to £60,000 upon successful registration

  • Up to £6,000 annual bonus potential

  • Opportunity to lead two small therapeutic homes with strong foundations already in place

  • Dedicated Deputy Managers within both services

  • Supportive senior leadership structure

  • Growing organisation with an established therapeutic ethos

  • Monday to Friday working pattern, 09:00 to 17:00

  • Opportunity to influence service development and future growth

If you're an experienced Registered Manager who enjoys developing people as much as improving services, and you're looking for a role where your leadership can be seen in the culture of the homes, the confidence of your team and the progress of the young people living there, we'd welcome a conversation.
