SUPPORT WORKER
Children’s Residential Home (EBD / SEMH / ASC)
Location: Chellaston, Derby (DE73)
Salary: £32,436.80 to £33,164.80 per year (including sleep-ins)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Rota: 1 on / 2 off (includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins @ £50 each)
Overtime: +£2.50 per hour after 160 hours per month
You’ll join a small, family-style children’s home supporting young people aged 12 to 17 with emotional, behavioural and social communication needs. It’s a home designed for consistency and care, where routines are purposeful, expectations are clear, and staff have the space to really connect with the children they support.

What you’ll be doing
Supporting young people day-to-day: education, family contact, health appointments, hobbies and community life
Building relationships that help children feel safe, valued and understood
Using trauma-informed, relational practice to guide behaviour and promote growth
Taking keywork responsibilities and contributing to care plans and reviews
Recording accurately and reflectively; logs, incidents, risks and outcomes
Helping maintain a warm, organised and genuinely homely environment
Working a structured 1 on / 2 off rota that balances consistency with rest
What you’ll bring
Experience supporting young people with emotional, social or communication needs in a residential setting
Working towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with clear, confident written recording
A nurturing, reliable approach that creates safety and trust
Full UK manual driving licence
