1 on 2 off shift pattern | 8am start | Sleep-ins paid at £50
This Residential Support Worker role is based in a children’s home in Coalville supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The home focuses on consistency, relationships and creating a place where young people feel safe enough to grow.
You’ll be part of a team that takes pride in doing residential childcare properly. The home runs with clear structure, strong leadership and a culture where staff are trusted to use their judgement.
The organisation behind the service has been building children’s homes across the Midlands with a clear aim. Homes that are small enough to feel like a proper household but supported by a wider leadership team who understand residential care inside out.
The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll play an important part in day to day life within the home.
You’ll support young people with routines, education, activities and appointments while helping them build independence and confidence over time.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting young people with everyday life in the home including education, activities and appointments
Building positive relationships that help young people feel secure and valued
Working alongside colleagues to deliver consistent care and boundaries
Recording daily events and contributing to care plans and reviews
Working with social workers, schools and other professionals involved in the young person’s life
Taking part in activities, outings and experiences that help young people enjoy their childhood
Shift Pattern
1 day on, 2 days off
8am start with sleep-ins
160 hours contracted per month
Pay
£13.22 to £14.14 per hour
Sleep-ins are paid at £50 per night
Example earnings with one overtime shift per month: £34,826.40 to £36,760 per year
Overtime rate: £15.72 to £16.64 per hour
Additional overtime enhancement of £2.50 per hour once 160 hours per month is exceeded.
Pay progression is structured and reviewed twice a year in March and October. Progression is linked to development, performance and the goals set within supervision and annual appraisal.
Staff completing probation move to their next pay band at the earliest available review point.

What You’ll Need
Experience working with young people in residential care or a similar environment
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it
Good communication and recording skills
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the day to day running of the home
Full UK driving licence
