Residential Support Worker
Children’s Residential Home (EBD / SEMH)
Location: Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire
Salary: Approximately £30,860 per annum
Contract: Full time, permanent (40 hours per week, rolling rota with days, evenings, weekends, sleeps)
Sleep-ins: Around one per week at £55 each

You’ll be part of a small, therapeutic children’s home supporting young people aged 8–18 who’ve experienced trauma and disrupted care. The focus is on building stability through strong relationships, predictable routines and genuine warmth. The team approach care with empathy, curiosity and purpose, giving every young person the space to grow and belong.
What the role involves
Supporting young people day-to-day; from school and family contact to health appointments and activities
Building relationships through consistent, trauma-informed care
Encouraging independence and confidence through everyday progress
Contributing to care plans, key work and progress reports that actually tell each young person’s story
Keeping records accurate and meaningful; daily logs, incidents, reviews and outcomes
Helping to maintain a safe, nurturing and genuinely homely environment
What you’ll need
Experience in children’s residential care or a related field (youth work, SEN, education, mental health)
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it; funding available)
Full UK manual driving licence
Reflective, relational approach with genuine belief in every child’s potential
