SUPPORT WORKER

Children’s Residential Home (EBD / SEMH / ASC)
Location: Morley, Derbyshire (DE21)
Salary: £32,436.80 to £33,164.80 per year (including sleep-ins)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Rota: 1 on / 2 off (includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins @ £50 each)
Overtime: +£2.50 per hour after 160 hours per month

You’ll join a small, therapeutic home supporting young people aged 12–17 with emotional, behavioural and social communication needs. It’s a home built around relationships; steady routines, thoughtful practice and the belief that progress happens when young people feel genuinely understood.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting young people through their daily routines; school, activities, appointments, and family contact

  • Building trusted relationships through consistent, trauma-informed care

  • Encouraging independence, confidence and emotional growth through everyday moments

  • Taking ownership of keywork and contributing to care plans, reviews and progress reports

  • Keeping records clear and reflective; logs, incidents, risks and LAC updates

  • Helping to maintain a safe, comfortable and genuinely homely environment

  • Working a structured 1 on / 2 off rota that promotes balance and reliability

What you’ll bring

  • Experience supporting young people with emotional, behavioural or communication needs in a residential setting

  • Working towards or ready to start your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

  • Strong communication, teamwork and recording skills

  • A nurturing, reliable approach that builds safety and trust

  • Full UK manual driving licence

Pay, perks and progression

  • £32,436.80 to £33,164.80 per year (including sleep-ins)

  • Sleep-ins paid at £50 each

  • Overtime uplift: +£2.50 per hour after 160 monthly hours
