What the role involves
Supporting daily routines, school runs, appointments and community activities with consistency the young person can rely on
Applying trauma informed principles to build trust, manage distress through skilled de-escalation, and repair relationships when things don't go smoothly
Acting as key worker, contributing to placement plans, risk assessments and reviews, and producing clear, useful written records for the wider team
Identifying safeguarding concerns early, escalating them through the right channels, and taking part in honest reflection afterwards
Maintaining the home to a genuinely lived in standard through cooking, cleaning and general upkeep
Working closely with the Team Leader, Home Manager and the network of professionals involved in the young person's care
What you'll bring
A minimum of nine months' experience in children's residential care
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare completed, in progress, or a clear intention to start it
A full UK manual driving licence and confidence driving a service vehicle
A child centred approach with strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
