Service Manager
Supported Accommodation for Young People (16–18)
Burton upon Trent
Up to £60,000 depending on experience
A supported accommodation service in Burton upon Trent is looking for a Service Manager to lead the next stage of its development.
The provision supports young people aged 16 to 18, many of whom are care experienced or preparing to move on from residential care. The focus is on helping young people develop the practical skills, confidence and independence they need as they approach adulthood, while still having the right level of support around them.
The service has recently been registered and has begun welcoming young people. The environment has been set up carefully to feel like a real home rather than an institution, with shared accommodation and a consistent staff presence throughout the day and night.
Leadership within the organisation remains close to the service, with a clear focus on building something sustainable and thoughtful as it grows.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the service while playing a meaningful part in how the wider organisation develops over the coming years.
The role
As Service Manager, you will oversee the day to day running of the supported accommodation service, ensuring young people receive consistent support while developing the skills they need for adulthood.
You will guide the staff team, maintain safeguarding standards and work closely with local authorities and professionals involved in each young person’s pathway plan.
The approach to support is centred on independence. Young people are encouraged to build everyday life skills such as managing finances, accessing education or employment, maintaining routines and building healthy relationships.
You will ensure that the service continues to provide a safe and supportive environment where young people feel respected and able to move forward.
As the organisation grows, the role is expected to expand. Future services are planned and the Service Manager will likely move into overseeing additional provisions. There is also the potential to step into a Nominated Individual position in the future.
