Registered Manager, Supported Accommodation (Ofsted Registered, 16+ EBD)

What you’ll be doing as Registered Manager

• Leading and managing the Ofsted-registered 16+ supported accommodation service day to day and holding the Ofsted registration with confidence

• Growing the service safely and thoughtfully from one young person, making careful, well-matched decisions as new referrals come through

• Making sure the service meets the supported accommodation quality standards, local authority commissioning expectations and all relevant children’s social care regulations

• Overseeing person-centred support plans that build independence, emotional safety, education, employment and the everyday life skills that make adulthood feel achievable

• Recruiting, supervising and developing a staff team who understand trauma, emotional and behavioural needs and the realities of semi-independent living

• Building strong working relationships with local authorities, including out-of-area placing authorities, alongside schools, colleges, health professionals and wider networks

• Monitoring quality through audits, risk assessments, feedback and data, then turning what you learn into practical improvements your team and young people can feel

• Taking the lead on safeguarding, thresholds, escalation and multi-agency planning, with experienced senior leaders on hand whenever a second perspective would help

What you’ll bring

• Previous experience holding Ofsted registration as a Registered Manager, ideally within supported accommodation, 16+ services or children’s residential care

• The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or you’re currently working towards it

• A strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, the supported accommodation standards and children’s social care legislation

• Experience working alongside local authorities on placements, commissioning and reviews

• Confident, warm leadership, where you’re comfortable setting clear expectations, coaching your team and holding a firm, fair line when a situation calls for it

• A structured, young person-focused approach grounded in relational practice and a real belief in what young people can achieve

• A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel locally for meetings, reviews and visits
