A brand new EBD children's home in Barnet is opening its doors, and the people who join now will shape what this service becomes for every young person who lives there afterwards. This is a Senior Residential Support Worker role built for someone who already holds a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and a full UK driving licence, because a new home needs experienced hands from the very first shift.

What you'll be doing
Leading shifts within a small EBD children's home, holding day to day responsibility for the safety, wellbeing and routines of the young people in your care
Supporting and modelling good practice for Residential Support Workers on shift, which matters more than usual given this home is newly opening
Contributing to care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans, and taking an active role in key working relationships with young people
Working closely with the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager as the home moves through its opening phase and towards its first Ofsted inspection
Building consistent, trusting relationships with young people who may have experienced trauma, disrupted placements or significant emotional and behavioural difficulties
Maintaining accurate records and documentation to the standard Ofsted and safeguarding partners expect from residential childcare providers
What you'll need
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, already completed
A full UK driving licence, essential for this particular home and its operational needs
Previous experience working in a children's residential setting, ideally supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
A genuine appetite for helping shape a new service, alongside the confidence to work without years of established routine already in place
Resilience, warmth and sound judgement, the qualities every new home relies on most heavily in its first few months
Pay and benefits
Base pay of £15 to £16.50 an hour, totalling £31,200 to £34,320 a year
Sleep-ins paid at £60 each, averaging ten a month, bringing realistic total earnings to £38,400 to £41,520 a year
Overtime paid at a £2 an hour uplift on top of your base rate
