SENIOR RESIDENTIAL
SUPPORT WORKER
Senior Residential Support Worker
Coalville, Leicestershire LE67
£37,360 to £39,856 per year
This is a provider whose entire model is built on the belief that young people in care deserve the same quality of emotional warmth, encouragement and individual focus that any child in a loving family home would receive.
What makes them stand out in the sector:
They employ an in-house Associate Psychologist who works across their homes on a regular basis, reviewing care plans, delivering tailored staff training and helping teams build environments that are psychologically informed
Homes are kept at low occupancy deliberately, so every young person receives quality individual attention and every staff member can do their job well
The therapeutic approach running through this home is consistent, relationship-focused and embedded into everyday practice, not just policy documents
They have a growing footprint across the Midlands and a strong track record of investing in their teams for the long term
The Role
As Senior Residential Support Worker, you will be a central figure in the life of this home, working directly alongside young people and helping to shape the standards of care delivered every day.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Supporting young people with routines, education, activities, appointments and the quieter in-between moments that build trust over time
Leading shifts with confidence and helping the wider team deliver consistent, high quality practice
Guiding newer staff members through complex situations and contributing to their development
Contributing meaningfully to care planning and reviewing how things are going during handovers
Building genuine, sustained relationships with young people aged 12 to 17 who are working through complex experiences
Working within a wider professional network that includes social workers, teachers, therapists and other specialists involved in each young person's journey
Senior staff here stay genuinely close to the young people while also helping shape the standards of the home, and that balance is one of the more interesting aspects of the role.

Why People Build Careers Here
In residential childcare, the culture of an organisation shapes everything, and this provider has built a reputation for doing it well:
Leadership invests in staff development and keeps expectations honest and transparent
Homes are properly supported so teams can grow stronger over time
Young people experience real consistency, and practice improves naturally as a result
Staff stay, develop and build long careers here rather than moving on after 12 months
For Senior Residential Support Workers who want to keep learning, stay connected to the young people they care about and develop into more senior roles over time, this is a genuinely good place to build something long-term.
