Senior Residential Support Worker
Solo Children’s Home (EBD)
Location: Desborough, Northamptonshire
Salary: £41,310 to £43,728 per year
Rota: 1 on / 2 off

You’ll join a solo children’s home supporting one young person who needs consistency, structure and care they can genuinely rely on. It’s a small, therapeutic environment where every decision matters and where the quality of relationships shapes progress far more than paperwork ever could.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll take the lead on shift; guiding practice, supporting your team and helping to keep the home running smoothly day to day. You’ll work closely with a committed Registered Manager and Deputy, creating a space where safety, trust and emotional awareness are built into everything that happens.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading shifts with confidence and clarity, setting the tone for high-quality, therapeutic care

  • Taking key work responsibilities and contributing to care plans, reviews and risk assessments

  • Coaching colleagues through reflective practice and strong, relational approaches

  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation, including incidents, medication and safeguarding

  • Working in partnership with families, schools, health and social care professionals

  • Helping keep the home well-presented, nurturing and genuinely welcoming

What you’ll bring

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)

  • At least 18 months’ experience in children’s residential care, ideally in solo or small-group settings

  • Leadership experience with confident communication and sound decision-making

  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential)

  • A thoughtful, proactive approach to reflective practice and professional development
