Salary: £41,310 to £43,728 per year

You’ll be joining a solo children’s home that offers something rare; time, space and focus to do the job properly. Supporting one young person with emotional and behavioural needs, this home is purpose-built for therapeutic care, run by people who believe consistency and connection create the strongest outcomes.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll lead shifts, guide colleagues, and make sure every day runs with purpose and care. You’ll work alongside an experienced Registered Manager and Deputy who trust their team to lead from the front, not from behind a desk. Every small decision you make will help a young person feel safe, understood and valued.
What you’ll be doing
Taking the lead on shift and creating an environment rooted in trust and structure
Holding keywork responsibilities and contributing to care plans, risk assessments and reviews
Coaching and developing staff through reflective, relationship-based practice
Maintaining strong records across daily logs, safeguarding, medication and incidents
Working collaboratively with families, schools and health professionals to build consistency
Supporting the home’s warm, homely atmosphere; somewhere that feels genuinely safe to return to
What you’ll bring
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
18 months or more experience in children’s residential care, ideally within a solo or small-home setting
Confident communication, sound judgement and a relational approach to leadership
A genuine commitment to trauma-informed practice and professional growth
Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
What’s on offer
£41,310 to £43,728 per year (inclusive of 7 average sleep-ins per month at £60 each)
Overtime uplift of +£2.00 per hour after contracted hours
Funded Level 5 qualification after probation
