This is a small, therapeutic two-bed home for young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The focus is simple and consistent: safe relationships, clear routines and staff who know their young people well.

As Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a tight, experienced team and take a lead role on shift. You’ll guide practice, support newer staff and help keep the home running in a way that feels predictable and safe for the children living there.

The provider has built its services around relationship-based care, clear boundaries and reflective team culture, with proper training and clinical input to back that up.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading shifts and handovers with clear plans and expectations

  • Keeping routines consistent so young people know what to expect

  • Mentoring and supporting newer team members in day-to-day work

  • Contributing to care plans, risk assessments and key decisions

  • Supporting education, appointments, family time and activities

  • Using therapeutic, relationship-led approaches in daily interactions

  • Maintaining good quality records and helping keep the home well presented

What you’ll bring

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

  • Around 12 months’ experience in children’s residential care

  • Experience leading shifts within a small team

  • Confident communication and strong written recording

  • A balanced approach to boundaries, consistency and care

  • Full UK manual driving licence

Pay, perks and progression

  • £33,164.80 to £36,160.00 per year (inclusive of sleeps)

  • Sleep-ins paid at £50

  • £2.50 overtime uplift after 160 hours per month

  • Twice-yearly pay reviews (March and October)
