Location: Morley, Derbyshire (DE21)
Service: 2-bed therapeutic home
Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per year
Rota: 1 on / 2 off with sleep-ins (£50 per night)

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll guide the rhythm of the home, lead shifts with confidence, and support your colleagues to deliver excellent, trauma-informed care. It’s a hands-on role that rewards patience, reflection and genuine connection.
The role
Lead shifts and set the pace for safe, consistent, relationship-based care.
Run handovers, keep communication tight and maintain daily stability.
Build trusted relationships using trauma-informed, relational practice.
Support routines around education, appointments and family time.
Coach newer colleagues, modelling calm and thoughtful practice on the floor.
Keep records clear and useful; daily logs, risks, incidents, and LAC reports.
Contribute to care plans and reviews, and follow safeguarding procedures.
Help maintain a homely environment, warm, tidy and genuinely welcoming.
What you’ll bring
At least 18 months’ experience in children’s residential care, including shift-leading.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or Level 4/5 in progress.
Strong communication skills and confident, accurate recording.
A calm, reflective leadership style that balances nurture with structure.
A full UK driving licence (essential for travel and appointments).
Pay, perks and progression
£33,000 – £36,000 per year
Sleep-ins at £50 each
Overtime +£2.50/hour after 160 monthly hours
Structured pay bands linked to Personal Development Plans and appraisals
Twice-yearly pay reviews (March & October)
