Service: Children's Residential Care

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire (S10)

Ofsted Rating: Good
This is a 6 bed EBD home in Sheffield supporting young people aged 8 to 18, rated good by Ofsted. Each young person has their own space with an ensuite, which they're encouraged to personalise. The home puts a clear focus on emotional wellbeing as part of everyday practice, and works closely with local schools to keep education on track for young people whose placements may otherwise disrupt it.
What you'll be doing:
Leading shifts and supporting a team of Residential Support Workers in delivering consistent, high quality care
Providing guidance, boundaries and emotional support to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
Building and maintaining working relationships with families
Overseeing support for young people with more complex needs, including health related interventions and medication administration
Contributing directly to day to day practice alongside the registered manager and deputy manager as the home moves towards full occupancy
Supporting less experienced staff with their development, including progression towards Level 3
What they're looking for:
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, essential for this role
A couple of years of relevant experience in children's residential care, ideally including some element of leading or supporting others on shift
Willingness to work a flexible, rota based pattern that includes sleep-ins
Someone who leads through consistency and genuine presence with young people, not just someone able to hold a rota together
Full UK Driving Licence
Funded training and career progression are available as part of the role. If you have the Level 3 and the experience behind you, and you're interested in a home at this stage of its development, get in touch and we can talk through what the role involves day to day.
