Pay: £15.00 to £16.00 per hour + £60 per sleep-in (OTE £36,000 to £37,920 per year)
Rota: 2 on / 4 off
Annual leave: 264 hours (33 days equivalent)
We’re recruiting a Senior Residential Support Worker for a relationship-led children’s home in Westhoughton, supporting young people with EBD and trauma-related needs. The focus here is simple, but done properly: structure, boundaries, consistency, and care. The home has achieved a Good Ofsted outcome, and the environment is warm and welcoming.
This is a role for someone who wants to lead on shift, support a team, and help young people build trust over time with presence, routine, and leadership that makes the house feel safe.
Pay and benefits
£15.00 to £16.00 per hour DOE
£60 per sleep-in
OTE £36,000 to £37,920 per year
2 on / 4 off rota

The role
As Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll be hands-on in the day-to-day running of the home and confident leading shifts. You’ll support Residential Support Workers, maintain high standards of care, and help keep practice consistent across the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading shifts and supporting staff practice on the floor
Supporting young people with routines, education, health appointments, activities and life skills
Working with care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
Maintaining strong safeguarding practice and professional decision-making
Completing clear daily records and contributing to reports
Building positive working relationships with families and professionals
Supporting a home culture built on respect, boundaries and trust

Essential requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
OR Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner
OR at least 75% completed towards either qualification
Minimum 18 months’ experience in children’s residential care
Confidence leading shifts and supporting staff practice
A strong understanding of safeguarding and professional standards
A Full UK Driving Licence
