RESIDENTIAL
SUPPORT WORKER
Senior Residential Support Worker
2 Bed Learning Disability, Residential Children's Home
Wolverhampton, WV10
£38,325 to £40880pa + enhanced overtime
**NO SLEEPS
This is a Senior Residential Support Worker role based in Wolverhampton, WV10, in a two bed home supporting one young person with a learning disability, paying £38,325 to £40,880pa (£15.00 to £16.00ph), with an extra £1.00 an hour for any overtime you pick up.
The rota runs three days on and three days off, shifts 7am to 9pm, so you get genuine, proper blocks of time off to live your life rather than just recover from the last shift before the next one starts with no sleeps, ever.
This young person has been with the same small, single home provider for four and a half years, in a sector where placement breakdown is depressingly normal and continuity of care is talked about far more than it's delivered, that kind of longevity tells you something about how this organisation operates day to day.
The provider behind this home has a track record of Good and Outstanding Ofsted outcomes, and having looked into how they talk about their own practice, it's not hard to see why. They're built around individualised, therapeutic care rather than a one size fits all approach, with proper input from a multi disciplinary team and a key person system.
What you'll be doing:
Providing high quality, therapeutic residential care to a young person with a learning disability in Wolverhampton, working to their individual care plan
Acting as a senior presence on shift, supporting and guiding the wider staff team where needed
Building and maintaining a trusted, consistent relationship as part of a long term, stable placement
Working closely with a multi disciplinary team to support development, communication and life skills
Maintaining accurate daily records, incident reports and care documentation to a high standard
Supporting the safe, smooth day to day running of the home, including on-call and out of hours responsibilities where required
Championing safeguarding, dignity and best practice at every point of the shift
What you'll need to bring:
Relevant experience working within a residential children's home, ideally at Senior level or ready to step up into one
A genuine understanding of supporting children and young people with learning disabilities
A relevant Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People or Level 3 Residential Childcare or Level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce or Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner
A full UK driving licence, ideally with access to your own vehicle
Resilience, patience and a real commitment to consistency, because that's what this young person deserves and what this role is built on
Enhanced DHC clearance, or the willingness to obtain one
Roles like this one don't come around all that often; a stable, long term placement in Wolverhampton, a provider with proven Ofsted outcomes behind them, and a pay structure that reflects the seniority and complexity of what you're actually being asked to do.
If you've got the experience and you're looking for somewhere that'll value what you bring to the table, get in touch and let's have a conversation about it, no pressure, no hard sell, just an honest chat about whether it's the right fit.
